Creativity and Crisis: I to We to One with Nina Meyerhof

Dr. Glen Martin, author of The Earth Constitution Solution discusses with Nina Meyerhof the principle that we must move from “I to we to one.” This is the course of conscious evolution in which each person is first and foremost responsible for his or her own growth from I to we to one. Secondly, we are all the same, deeply the same in spite of individual uniqueness, and we must actualize and live according to that sameness.

 

The crisis of our age they state is that we resist this movement from I to we to one. The change will come from the ground up—people are rapidly changing—and yet changing the institutions will itself help in the process of moving to planetary oneness. Top down and bottom up must have this kind of reciprocity. That is why we need the Earth Constitution which is the planetary “gold standard” for what we are trying to achieve.

Nina Meyerhof has made a life of advocating for children and youth. As her vocation, she served as the Special Education Coordinator for a ten–school district in southern Vermont. Dr. Meyerhof has extensive background in the needs of all children, with Master of Arts degrees in both Special Education and in Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Psychology. She also holds a doctorate in Educational Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts, where she developed a self-esteem model to be used in schools. A co-author of Conscious Education: The Bridge to Freedom, she is recognized as an innovative educator committed to global responsibility through authentic learning. Having received many awards for her work from The Mother Theresa Award to the Citizen’s Department of Peace Award to the International Educators Award for Peace, Nina continues daily to focus on altering world views for creating a better future.

Dr. Glen T. Martin is professor of philosophy Emeritus at Radford University in Virginia. He is President of the World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA) and Executive Director of the Earth Constitution Institute (EC).
